Conservatives announce tax cuts in Canada plan
Federal Finance Minister Jim Flaherty outlined about 60 billion dollars in personal and corporate income tax cuts over five years plus a GST drop to five percent from January 1 2008. Medicine Hat MP Monte Solberg said personal tax cuts and higher exemptions will help low income earners and lift about 385 000 people off the tax rolls. The plan aims to reduce debt and leave more money in taxpayers pockets while maintaining investments and growth.
