Albertans gain tools to cut utility costs and predict bills
Neudorf says three electricity and natural gas options help households and businesses trim expenses. About 26 percent of residential, 29 percent of eligible commercial, and 40 percent of farm customers use the ROLR. The Market Power Mitigation Regulation, launched in summer, aims to prevent price spikes for variable-rate customers and is expected to save Albertans over 80 billion dollars on power costs in ten years.
