Ellis outlines shift to regional victim services model
During the September 24 M.D. of Taber Council meeting Council discussed Minister Mike Ellis's letter on Alberta's new regional governance for RCMP based Victim Services. The move consolidates 60 independent VSUs into four RVSS regions with centralized support while front line services stay decentralised and navigators remain collocated with police. The SARVSS began full operations October 1 and Taber TPS Victims Services Unit continues for Taber-Vauxhall RCMP until the regional region fully integrates. Provincial funding increases support six part time positions in Taber.
