Horizon School Division projects 502000 shortfall amid budget revisions
At a June 21 meeting associate superintendent John Rakai outlined a revised 2011 12 budget showing a projected shortfall of about 502000 after revenue and expense adjustments. The board agreed to belt tightening including ESL cuts and other program reductions to save 266000, with a 236431 reserve draw and a deadline to submit the final budget to Alberta Education by June 30.
