The parish marks its centennial with a commemorative book published by Milestone Marker St. Augustine's. The volume gathers church history, milestones, and honor rolls from a century of parish life.
Taber council unanimously supported a TDH letter to apply for the 2011 2012 Housing Capital Initiatives Grant for Clearview Lodge apartment additions but did not approve financial backing. A counter motion for a full project budget, backed 5 1 by Councillor John Papp, was approved. Ben Elfring cited uncertain project figures as the reason.
On Canada Day at 4 38 p m Taber Emergency Services responded to a water rescue on the SMRID main canal near Chin. Five young adults tubing passed a low head dam and four were caught in a hydraulic backwash before all escaped. Three treated on scene and released. two transported to hospital.
