Council member Johnson plus AltaLink officials debated the Studio City area powerline plan affecting farmers. They highlighted aerial spraying concerns and argued the alternate route would reduce crop impact while costs would rise for residents. AltaLink plans a 240 kV double circuit line 66 to 80 km long costing 160 to 250 million, with application to the Alberta Utilities Commission and possible start in 2018.
