Rhonda Schaafsma organized Taber’s 100th centennial bash with help from many. She calls the three day event a perfect success with perfect weather and no glitches. The 100 Voices for 100 Years choir drew 720 people to the community centre Thursday to kick off celebrations.
The council, by a 4 3 vote, rescinded the May 9 decision to place the library at the old fire hall site and will continue debate at the June 13 meeting. Two sites remain under consideration. the northwest corner of Confederation Park and the community centre area near the curling rink.
Fifteen years ago the Taber and District Museum Society explored a time capsule to document Taber area history. With no official home, archives were kept at the post office, and Ruby Danforth recalls promoting preservation despite limited space and loose documentation.
