Emergency crews from Taber respond to a multi-scene storm that damaged a hangar at the municipal airport destroying four planes and flipping a fifth. Between 500 and 700 gallons of aviation fuel leaked while downed power lines and debris affected the town and surrounding municipalities.
The M D of Tabor requests residents provide uninsurable loss details to Alberta Emergency Management Agency through the district by August 31. Homeowners should contact their insurer first and submit loss descriptions land location ownership and contact numbers to the M D for provincial DRP consideration.
The Taber Charity Auction raised 250000 to earn a STARS helicopter logo, a first for Alberta. STARS committee member Jack French praises Taber as the logo is unveiled during Cornfest on Aug 22 at 5:30 p.m. A cheque presentation from the auction will accompany the ceremony.
