The MD of Taber plans a four year upgrade from touch pad meters to Ecoder R 900 radioRead meters starting in Grassy Lake for a 25 lot subdivision. John Sinclair says one operator can cover three hamlets in half a day with automatic data transfers and 96 day trend checks for flow and tampering. Councillors worry the pace may hinder testing but note Alberta has 40 to 50 communities using Ecoder. Initial costs for Grassy Lake total 11293.80 with metre conversions at 173.04 each and four year budgets covering Grassy Lake Enchant and Hays totaling 63000 plus.
