Ministers Explain Bills 36 and 19 in Taber Q and A

Four provincial ministers visited Taber for a question and answer luncheon at the community centre with landowners and residents. MLA Broyce Jacobs led a Q and A session on water storage and irrigation impacts linked to Bills 36 and 19, with ministers Mel Knight Ray Danyluk Cindy Ady and Lindsay Blackett fielding questions.

Alberta legislature focuses on 2011-12 budget and new bills

The spring session reconvened at 3 p.m. with expected introduction of at least 11 bills. Government House Leader Dave Hancock said the agenda centers on the future and a responsible budget. Budget estimates for 24 departments will be reviewed from Thursday to April 28, with live streaming on the Alberta Legislative Assembly site and constituency weeks scheduled March 28 to April 7 and May 25. Bills include Livestock Industry Diversification Amendment Act, Protection Against Family Violence, Education Act, and Engineering Geoscience Professions Amendment Act.
