Taber Charity Auction boosts emergency services funding
Taber council approved 2008 budget additions from the Taber Charity Auction, with $50,000 to Taber Emergency Services in 2007 and this year. The charity splits half the proceeds with STARS Air Ambulance, now totaling $250,000 raised. Funds fund a rapid response vehicle, Jaws of Life upgrades, a PAD program, EMT training, and two full-time paramedic bursaries. The vehicle enhances rural fire and multi-vehicle response and may host a backup set of equipment from the 1980s.
