Oil and Gas Drilling Surges in Greene County Pennsylvania
The Carnegie Natural Gas Company’s No 1 well on the George Salminger farm near Coon Run Springhill Township Greene County Pa drilled to depth and began producing 210 barrels daily. Deeper drilling boosted output to about 55 barrels per hour and 920 barrels in the 24 hours ending yesterday. Oil value for the period was 2492 dollars. The well seems to draw from a large pool causing high optimism in the southwest Pennsylvania fields. Within weeks six or more additional wells are planned though full completion may take about sixty days. Other wells in Washington County and West Virginia show promising production with 20 to 100 barrels daily and several gas wells in various districts.
