Williamson County adopts Ballot on Demand voting plan

Williamson County moves toward a Ballot on Demand system costing 1.14 million dollars funded by the Elections Office special fund with potential Help America Vote Act support of at least 52 thousand. Officials, including Ms Escobedo, say they will absorb costs and transfer line items as needed while facing mixed voter reaction and questions about wait times. The Election Board must approve supplies, meetings are public but recordings unavailable, and supporters say the system is a good solution adopted by Denton, McLennan and Collins counties, while critics argue certification and access concerns.
