Georgetown Promise Scholarship Awards 2025 Honors Five Local Seniors
Sun City residents back the Georgetown Promise Scholarship awarding 10000 to five local students in 2025. Since 2021 the program has given 40000 to 18 students with donors from the community. Recipients include Zuri Ruffin Jacob Kohn and Jacob Vasquez with Oluwapelumi Gbadegesin winning the top award.

The Georgetown Project on June 3 announced 13 $1000 scholarships for 2025 Georgetown ISD graduates. Recipients include Nadia Boutchich, Mireya Carrillo, Justin Dominguez, Oluwapelumi Gbadegesin, Marely Gonzalez Tapia, Sophia Henderson Thomas, Leslie Hernandez, Liliana Lutz, Zainab Naqibullah Nathaniel Nguyen, Laura Salazar, Alexandra Sanchez, and Savannah Williams. The award honors resilience and perseverance beyond barriers. The Flippen Group named 14 GISD campuses Capturing Kids Hearts National Showcase Schools for 2024-25, with S.T.E.P singled out as first juvenile justice facility to earn the honor.
