Farmers Institute Set for Lemmon September 28 29
A two day Farmers Institute will be held in Lemmon under A E Chamberlain of the South Dakota Agricultural College. Three sessions are planned with times 1 30 pm on the 28th and 10 30 am and 1 30 pm on the 29th. An evening session may be added on the 28th if warranted. All interested in agriculture are invited to attend.

Cowardly Deed At McIntosh Described As Dastardly Act
Ed Mathis railroad police officer chased down a black man named Arthur Thornton at McIntosh South Dakota. Mathis forced the man to dance then fired three times, the third shot hitting Thornton in the back. Thornton was left near the track for half an hour before aid arrived. Thornton, of Valley Springs Alabama, is said to be hopelessly wounded. Rumors say Mathis has fled, with calls for capture and full penalties.
