Preparations surge across Standing Rock and Cheyenne reservations for a major Catholic Indian congress at Fort Yates January 25 to 29. Storm damages Lemmon area. homes burned and horses killed

A Tuesday evening storm brought wind and rain to Lemmon. Chimneys toppled, a Sundahl store window shattered, and a barn near town was demolished with ten horses injured. Br Holway’s home burned with residents escaping unharmed. a fire consumed the ruins. Local residents Rawaland Finch Cooper Bennett and Heinrich traveled to Huron with Lemmon Commercial Club credentials to promote the Traveling Men’s convention.
