A Kentucky man, Charles Walker, reported missing since March 17, 1875 after presumed drowned in the Ohio River near Munn's Run, is said to be alive in Hannersville North Carolina. Pitt County Democracy Demonstration in Greenville

In Greenville on court week Tuesday a large crowd gathered in Market square to hear speakers. Senator Willis K. Williams opened the program with a twenty five minute address, then Capt. Octavius Coke spoke at length praising democracy and attacking Weaver. Ex Governor T J Jarvis followed with a brisk rebuke of third party candidate Phillips, drawing cheers and strong applause as the day closed in support of democracy.

Stevenson at Fayetteville for Speaking and Reception

Gen Stevenson and party arrived in Pawer North Carolina from Winston and were greeted by hundreds at the depot. They stayed at the Hotel Lafitte, with breakfast and informal reception, amid cheering crowds and cannons, then moved to Tokay for the night. Tomorrow’s speaking is expected to draw a rousing turnout. Mrs Green, widow of Judge Davis, hosts the Stevensons.
