Thos. Allison, convicted of three murders in Tennessee and North Carolina, was lynched by a masked mob in Mt Airy. About twenty men freed him from the jail at 1 a.m. and hanged him from a white oak two miles east of Dobson. No suspects named. horses were moved and left bridled. Body to be sent to Statesville after the coroner's inquest.
