Wiston North Carolina October 12 report says street car conductor Bell was beaten by two young men during a run. They were drinking and ringing fares. Bell is bedbound with serious injuries. In Broad Bay township Saturday Ed Longworth and Eli Thomas fought after a dispute over Longworth teaching credentials. Thomas severely wounded Longworth with a knife. Longworth’s prognosis unclear.
