The steamer Trent running between Kershaw, Pamlico county and New Bern sank at her wharf after leaking badly from 10 PM. All hands pumped but water rose. the vessel foundered about 3 AM with no freight aboard. Also reports disinterment of Jefferson Davis's descendants and related funerary arrangements in Tennessee and Virginia.
