Rome reports a man threw a stone at King Humbert as he left the Villa Borghese. The assailant was seized by bystanders and taken to prison as police acted. The king received an enthusiastic ovation on the way to the palace, amid cheers from a large crowd.

Baron de Aguiar de Andrada Brazilian envoy in Washington on a special mission to the Brazil Argentina border dispute was stricken with apoplexy and paralyzed overnight. He attended a theater and collapsed at the Arlington hotel steps. Doctors say the condition is very serious with paralysis following the stroke. He leads the Brazilian commission presenting its case to President Cleveland.
New York reports the funeral for Col Elliot F Shepherd will be held Tuesday at 2 West Fifty second Street. Rev Jno Hall of Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church will conduct with possible assistance from other ministers.
A U S court issued a sweeping opinion in the Government vs Amalgamated council and union officers over a November general strike, declaring their acts unlawful and granting injunctions. The decision could trigger further federal actions against labor leaders. Wilmington delegates and others planned to present views to the President. March 23 1893.
Mayor J Taylor Ellyson of Richmond arrives in New Orleans and meets Gen Glynn with Louisiana Confederate veterans to plan Jefferson Davis remains removal. Interment set for May 30 at Holly Wood cemetery in Richmond, with Mrs Davis selecting the plot for her family. Louisiana division to oversee New Orleans ceremonies. Lee camp to assist in Richmond. Monument design and construction for Monroe Park expected next year, with corner stone soon and completion in two to three years.
The survey of the line to Pullen's park is completed and the route decided. A four mile trunk line from Pullen's park to Brookside will be built with heavy rail and first class condition. Open cars will run from the park to park, with Fayetteville street cars linking every fifteen minutes. Palm Sunday and Holy Week observances are detailed with Catholic and Episcopal rites described.
