Mr Williams of Massachusetts clashes with Mr Walker of Massachusetts amid parliamentary rhetoric and a Bible citation as they discuss party loyalties and the 1890 silver act. The House adjourns after a heated day of executive business and committee work.
Senator Hill arrives in Augusta after a rapid Savannah to Augusta journey. A salute and band greet him as locals welcome his remarks urging Democratic unity for statewide victory. The Morganton Herald endorses S. B. Alexander as Governor and urges party cohesion to beat Republicans.
Austin March 18 Culberson withdraws from the Senatorial race His friends say the move serves no other candidate interests It is believed several Culberson supporters will back Mills securing his election Chilton expected to withdraw from Washington soon to end his challenge

In Washington on March 18 a Harrison cabinet meeting decided to protect Behring Sea seals. Secretary Tracy will soon issue orders to the Pacific squadron to police the area and arrest poachers from Canada or the United States on the interdicted territory.
In Statesville, Hon W M Robbins and Senator W D Turner request audience with Col Harry Skinner and President Butler. They will discuss Alliance demands before the people of Iredell County with a possible joint discussion including two Statesville citizens. A circulated circular from Iredell is printed in this issue.
A local notice calls on Democrats to rally on Saturday in Ier dell to oppose Marion Butler Harry Skinner and allies believed to seek a Third Party platform. Maj. Wm. M. Robbins and W. D. Turner will speak on the current outlook and urge party unity and purity.
Henderson March 14 Capt E G Brodie prominent Henderson citizen died at his home this afternoon He leaves a wife one child and a large number of relatives He had long been prominent in county affairs and had saved Vance county money later claimed by other counties in its formation He leaves a large estate. Charlotte March 18 Polk Skinner and Butler spoke to a good crowd at the courthouse Col Skinner's speech was strong entertaining impressive and well received The tone was against a third party and his Democracy was sound and solid The speech was much complimented here
