Dam Break Floods Mines and Town in Manongy Pa
A dam burst last night around 10 o clock causing a destructive flood in Manongy, Pennsylvania. The rushing water swept Main Street and blocked roads with trees, poles, and debris, flooding cellars and stores and washing out tracks on the Lehigh Valley line. Two people were reported missing, but later updates claimed none missing. Losses exceed 375000 with North Mahonoy colliery partly washed away and several mines flooded.
