Reports from Asiatic Turkey describe widespread cholera in many districts along the lower Tigris and the Shet El Arab. Villages deserted as residents flee, and 70,000 people have fled Bassora province.
The day featured alumni memorial addresses in Gerrard Hall with references to Joseph A. Davis, and the class day program including an oration, a poem, and prophecies by graduates. Activities moved to an evening at the gymnasium with speeches by Dialectic and Philanthropic Societies and a reception to follow.
