The Democratic State executive committee met with thirty eight members and elected Hon. F. J. Simmons of Newbern as chairman while honoring ex-chairman E. C. Smith for his service. Resolutions praised Smith and pledged party unity as they anticipated a larger victory for Cleveland and Carr in North Carolina. Several district vacancies were filled by resignations, with new appointees named to central committee and district posts.
