Blaine's Burial Private Wishes Fell to Public Honor

Washington January 30 Blaine could not have a private funeral as public interest overwhelmed barriers. Presidents, cabinet members, justices, and a vast crowd attended the procession and services at a church and cemetery. Dr Hamlin led prayers and readings, with the service concluding as Blaine was laid to rest, followed by word of his will probated in Augusta. Blaine’s estate is estimated around $800,000, left to his wife with her as sole executrix.
