The community mourns the death of Mrs Anne Taylor Bushee who died Friday night after a long illness believed to be heart failure following influenza. A lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church, she was born October 13 1825, married January 1 1849, and died in the same house at 66. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 3 o clock from the First Presbyterian Church.

New York weekly bank statement shows surplus reverse up 8 426 875 loans up 1 369 400 specie up 5 832 100 legal tenders up 5 363 800 deposits up 11 080 100 circulation down 26 000. Auditor reports frauds including false limb certs and pension grants questioned for low earnings. Fraud cases highlight rare prevalence with one pension denied a needy veteran despite service.
At Chapel Hill Prof Wilson urged cultivation as the cure for overfishing. He described mussels of beds, shell bottoms and twig bundles anchoring young oysters, and noted NC laws permitting private leases while protecting natural beds. The tax on oysters raised prices and shut coast canneries.
