Senate Poll Shows Sherman Act Repeal Likely Blocked
Washington February 1 The Senate poll directed by Senators Chandler and Dixon on repealing the Sherman silver act shows only about eight Democrats likely to back repeal and a similar reluctance among Republicans to bring the measure to a vote. Several senators oppose bringing it to consideration, while some could vote if brought to a vote. The report notes a seven to eight vote against bringing the measure forward.
