Almy Captured After Wild Farmyard Showdown
Frank C. Almy, accused of killing Christie Warden, was tracked to the Warden farm and cornered in a hay mow. After a prolonged standoff, a citizen’s posse assaulted the barn. Almy fired repeatedly, was wounded, overpowered, and confined upstairs at the Wheelock house. Almy claims Christie’s death was not to be followed by rape and was last seen near her grave.

Horrible Hanging at Liverpool Murderer Conway
John Conway, convicted of murdering Nicholas Martin, was executed in Liverpool. The scene on the scaffold included a priest interceding, Conway confessing intoxication and morbid curiosity, and blood pouring as his head was torn from his body, leaving it only attached by neck muscles.
