John Bull Train Heads to World's Fair Demonstration

The John Bull locomotive and its cars, the first engine of its kind in the United States, departed from Jersey City at 10 16 am amid vast crowds. Enthusiastic spectators cheered at every station from Philadelphia to Harrisburg as the antique train struggled to maintain steam and reached West Philadelphia by 5 42 pm.
