Abandoned car found near Troy with note to parents
A 17 year old Joliet student Charles Sawyer left home Tuesday morning in a cheerful mood and drove away in his coupe. His abandoned car was found two miles north of Troy with clothing left behind and a note to his parents explaining he felt he had been a burden. Deputies searched nearby woods and riverbanks along the DuPage river while his mother expressed heartbreak and confusion over his sudden disappearance. The note asked his father and mother not to search further, as he felt he was a burden.
