Joliet zoning debate and civic leadership call to action
The planning commission is urged to reconsider Joliet zoning to allow multi family housing on the west and east sides. Supporters push George Lloyd and commission members to act soon to promote growth and shed weak leadership. Judge Bartley receives praise for sentencing four young rapists to prison, seen as upholding decency. The Joliet Association of Commerce prepares a civic responsibility meeting with a notable city planning speaker, signaling a shift toward new leadership and brighter days ahead.
