Grade School Board Splits on Joliet Plan
Joliet School District 86 trustees after a lengthy session took no action on the Joliet Plan. Attitudes ranged from support to opposition and officials warned the plan would be defeated if rushed to voters. The plan, from Bernard Berkin and Bruce McPherson, would create middle schools for grades five through eight and expand from the current junior highs at Hafford Gompers.
