Stefanich to Chester for mental commitment after murder verdict
Anthony John Stefanich, 42, of Joliet, found sane by a circuit court jury, will be committed to the Illinois Security Hospital at Chester for treatment after being charged with the murder of Doris Bogart. Deputies Wayne Thornburg and Stanley Drake will return him to jail and he will be transferred once court papers are finished by Circuit Judge James Bartley. Sheriff Roy Doerfer cites Chester as a more secure safeguard than life imprisonment.
