Bandits Who Robbed Sears in Jail Break
Joseph Beck, part of a four man gang, fled during a Waukegan jail break after his partners Ernest Rupprecht and Clifford Heaney were captured. The trio had entered Sears Roebuck in the morning of September 1, robbed the cashier’s office of over 500 dollars and escaped by car driven by Beck. Rupprecht Heaney and Beck were later arrested in Chicago and linked to a West Chicago bank burglary while held for trial.
