Rock Island Unveils Diesel Suburban Train First Run
The streamlined diesel suburban train made its first run from Chicago to Joliet this morning and will enter service tomorrow. At LaSalle Street Station officials and civic leaders from Chicago and Joliet were welcomed by Rock Island president J. D. Farrington, with Walter T. Fisher, ICC chairman, shown nearby as the train prepared to depart.
