Baltz Requests State Hearing Over Will County Tax Multiplier
Meade Baltz chairman of the Will county board and board of review joined Illinois counties in protesting the increased tax multiplier of 7.14 for Will county. He asked for a formal hearing with Eugene Maynard deputy director of the Illinois department of revenue. Baltz warned the higher factor raises real and personal property taxes and called for study of valuations. Maynard attributed inflation to rising land prices and noted a new quadrennial assessment next year with board refinements to reduce township assessment inequalities.
