New 56 Chevrolet Debuts With Power Boom and Safety Upgrades

Bill Jacobs Chevrolet group hosts a three day gala at 402 Chicago Street to unveil the 1956 Chevrolet lineup. The event previews 19 body styles including a four door hardtop sport sedan and nine station wagons, with power now up to 205 horsepower in the V8 and 140 in the inline six. Safety features include seat belts shoulder harness headlights and crash tested door locks as part of a nationwide debut.

Packey Webb, a Joliet native with 20 years in autos, joins Bill Jacobs Chevrolet as sales manager. A St. Raymond’s student and father of six, he belongs to St Paul the Apostle church, Holy Name Society, Elks, American Legion and Knights of Columbus. He previously served six years at Winston Chevrolet.
