Republicans charge Judge Blatt with abuse of taxpayers funds
The Republican party accuses Judge George N. Blatt of illegal tax abatement and penalty reductions amounting to about 100000 over two years. They say Democratic leaders benefited, including Mrs. P. F. McFarland, head of the democratic women’s group in Will county. Blatt allegedly reduced taxes on a building at Cass and Chicago Streets and abated interest and penalties. Democratic organizers planned meetings to defend Blatt to retain control of the Board of Review. An overwhelming GOP victory is predicted by A. F. Schupp.
