The Bird Haven greenhouse at Pilcher Park opens its spring flower show under the head gardener. Many varieties will be prime for the next two to three Sundays. Two shows run simultaneously with the formal gardens open to the public.
Boxing event on March 26 at the Catholic high gymnasium will be presented by Dave Rosen, a former professional fighter, backed by the Will County United Service Organization. Pvt. Anthony E. Skroko of 1208 Elizabeth street ended a three day furlough yesterday at noon and departed for Camp Pendleton W Va. He told friends he enjoyed army life during his visit.

Stephen George Vakey, 305 Cleveland avenue, killed in an automobile accident. funeral tomorrow at Western Funeral parlors with interment at SS Cyril and Methodius cemetery.
