Illinois Bell expands its nationwide network for the Republican and Democratic conventions starting July 7 and July 21. The system adds 5 000 miles of cables and 16 new cities, delivering live telecasts to 107 of 108 stations in 65 cities via theaters and hotels. press accommodations also receive extensive teletypers and comms to newspapers and stations nationwide.
