More than 1800 former officials their wives and sweethearts from Northern Illinois American Legion posts attended Stateville prison for an annual meeting. They sent food to the prison and at 7 o'clock meals started in the dining room. Guests toured the prison and enjoyed a band concert and inmate entertainment in the large auditorium.
