Mary Coughlin describes Will County Poor Farm residents stranded by dreary daily life. The SPECTATOR launches a drive to fund a radio and place books and magazines there, hoping to brighten hours for about 140 inmates and provide entertainment beyond the current limited resources.
Chief N. J. Fornango stated late yesterday that the drive for city automobile licenses will continue indefinitely.
Dr John Shutak reported two Gypsy women from a roaming band attempted to rob him of thirty six dollars using a handkerchief trick. He recovered thirty dollars from the Gypsy car after the ruse failed and police arrested the pair.
