The Spectator urges Joliet and Will County officials Kilcieney McCabe Flint and Wraith to enforce all laws and stop slot machines. Citizens accuse authorities of indifference as gambling persists near schools and in local venues. the letter demands immediate, effective action.
Dennis OConnor of 118 Emmett street won last weeks Lenny Lane last line contest at The Spectator receiving a five dollar prize. The winning line completes a poem from a milk strike to arbitrate for humanity. Hundreds of entries were received though many were disqualified for not rhyming with the third line.
The Graphic feature recounts Chicago’s 1910s campaign against amebic dysentery led by Health Commissioner Dr. Herman N. Bundesen. It credits rapid containment to a heroic public health effort saving thousands, portraying a nationwide victory and urging readers to learn from the campaign.
Illinois Commerce Commission in Chicago is expected to rule on placing buses on the Wilcox Cass street line. W H Huen general manager of the C and J company says a statement should arrive in ten days to two weeks. If approved six buses will be placed on the current street car line.

William M. Knutson, bank receiver, announced plans to submit a proposed Joliet bank to the Reconstruction Finance Corporation for approval. Loans for both Will County and Joliet National Banks are arranged, with assets vetted by the Comptroller and bank board.
A crowd of 2,000 packed the Catholic High gym for 11 Golden Gloves preliminaries in Joliet. Knockouts included Tiny Hyden vs Bernie Bauman and Jack Challenger vs Leslie Foster. Weekly bouts advance winners to the final next Thursday for eight champions to the Tournament of Champions.
