A M A Faces Revolt Over Health Reform War Chest
At a St Louis AMA House of Delegates meeting, delegates clashed with the nine member board, voting to raise a 3.5 million dollar war chest by a 25 assessment on each local or state medical society to oppose federal health insurance and to disapprove a new national non profit health insurer led by Dr Paul R Hawley.
