PTA celebrates founders and history in Joliet area
In February all PTA units in Joliet and across the motion honor the organizations founders. The article recalls the 1897 founding of the National Congress of Mothers and its goals for child welfare. Local history notes the first PTA at Washington school in 1912 with Mrs. W. Wester, later Sheridan, and today active councils in every state. Local PTA publicity chair is Mrs. Ordon Niznik.
