Joliet Sewage Plant Plans Progress in Desplaines Area
Planning for Joliet sewage disposal advances with a primary treatment plant estimated at 1.5 million dollars and an intercepting sewer main of 500000 dollars. Consoer, Townsend and Associates, engineers, craft blueprints to locate the site north of Hickory creek at the Desplaines river. The interceptor would run north to Wallace street to capture 80 percent of Joliet’s sewage. Throttling devices in the main would separate storm from sanitary sewage.
