The Christmas manger scenes at Chicago churches will be visited by the young ladies of St. Ann's Sodality on Sunday. Rev. Victor Ivisich, director of the sodality and assistant pastor of St. Mary's Church, will accompany the group.
Miss Marie Schmitz of 412 Bridge Street hosts a Christmas party for her piano pupils tonight at 8 p m. A gift exchange will follow and refreshments will be served. Several pupils will present a short program.
Tonight at 7 p m over WJOL St. Mary’s choir performs Silent Night Adeste Fideles Angels We Have Heard on High and The First Noel Rev Fr Flavian Wilson O Carm reads the Christmas gospel story at St Mary’s Church.
Midshipman J. P. McCarthy Jr of Joliet is set to receive his naval aviator wings after completing trainer flights aboard the USS Wing in the Gulf of Mexico. He trained through NAS Livermore and Los Alamitos and will advance to a four month fighter training syllabus before joining a fleet unit. He is the son of Mr and Mrs P McCarthy and a Joliet Catholic High School graduate from 1945.
