Prison Picnic Highlights 87th American Correctional Assn Congress
More than 500 people attended the 87th annual American Correctional Association congress in Chicago and then joined a barbecue at Stateville prison hosted by Warden and Mrs. Joseph E. Ragen. The event featured E R Cass of New York City and E Preston Sharp of Philadelphia as dignitaries with Ragen serving drinks and hats distributed by Porfirio Diaz Santana of San Juan Puerto Rico. Attendees included Mrs John W. Browning of Joliet Mollie Samuels a London England probation officer Fay Murdock of Aledo and other bystanders in sun hats and photos taken for Spectator Photos.
