Byron Gaskill of the Will county corn-hog allotment committee announced that about 10 000 in federal funds will be paid to 34 county farmers in the first batch of contracts. Payments on 1534 contracts are expected by midmonth.
Police launched a drive ordered by Chief Nicholas Fornango arresting speeders and other violations. Motorcycle officers stopped drivers from 30 mph up to 61 mph in city limits with fines starting at 7.25 dollars. Names of violators include Foran Plainfield Cass street and others as court action proceeds.
